Y2K IS ABOUT "OIL" ANYONE WHO SAYS JUST MORE OIL TALK IS "WRONG"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

This is JC not RC. Please, I'm not here just to warn you but also to inform you our everyday lives are in jeopardy. In 60 days the gas pumps will run dry and no one will be able to buy fuel. In 30 days fuel will be $6.00 a gallon plus. It's after 30 days things really get scary. Y2K IS ABOUT "OIL" Everything else can wait. Oil can't wait.

JC - even though I agree that all evidence points to the Oil situation deteriorating markedly, can you give us some reasoning behind your predictions?

I think you said you were a trader, I'm assuming therefore you have some inside information... care to share?

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), January 16, 2000.

Come on, JC Dude. Can you give us a little more to go on here? It's c4i all over again.

-- semper paratus (still_here_with@my.pals), January 16, 2000.

No one, I repeat no one can be trusted in the oil business. Everyone wants to get in on the oil bonaza before the next guy. Right now everyones lips are sealed, so they can give time to scramble up enough of their nest egg to take advantage of oil going up. The street is the last ones to know. Take it or leave it. Good nite.

-- JC (jc@yahoo.com), January 16, 2000.

It really would be nice to know what your source is!! How about filling us in!

-- Barb (ba3_4him1@yahoo.com), January 16, 2000.

One more thing, maybe RC knows and is afraid for his life. Lots of RC's would want to get rich you know. Takes time to gather up the cash to take advantage of the situation. Oil barons are not ones to inform.

-- JC (jc@yahoo.com), January 16, 2000.

Where I live, the price of gas has been going down about 5 cents per week. It is down to $1.16 per gallon. No indication at all that gas will go up.

-- ... (...@...com), January 16, 2000.

JC, Andy said "I think you said you were a trader". Since I've missed seeing any of your posts before this moment, and if I am to believe in what you are saying has some validity, can you give me some background on yourself, and your reasons (some details) to come to this conclusion. By taking your info. as a good prodnostication of what is about to happen, you could rest assured that I could then better prepare my family and friends for any up-coming hardships that would then occurr.

-- thomas saul (thomasaul@peoplepc.com), January 16, 2000.

I predict in 60 days I'll still be fillin' 'er up.

Oil's well that ends well, I suppose.

-- I'mSo (happy@prepped.com), January 16, 2000.

JC and all:

Good evening!

JC I think it is quite reasonable to expect you to explain such dramatic prognostication. No flame intended, but if you've lurked here for a bit, you'll have learned about the dangers of believing just any 2-bit hack...

This forum's members are intelligent and quite capable of independant thought. If you throw your ideas at us, we'll have a go at 'em, reach our own conclusions, and thank you for your assistance to us all.

But the price of a public voice is public criticism (hopefully constructive...)

Substantiate your claims or expect to be ignored.

-- (Kurt.Borzel@gems8.gov.bc.ca), January 16, 2000.

I refuse to come back to this forum ever again. When oil keeps rising over the next 2 weeks don't call on me for inside information. And the guy who said he'll be gasing up in 60 days, ya you will, only if you have a oil pipe that stretches from Saudia Arabia into your backyard. That's if you can get it to work. It may not be that bad folks but right now it looks dismal. Hope for the best and prepare. Good luck everyone.

-- JC (jc@yahoo.com), January 16, 2000.

Kurt

You are just so damm civil!! Are you Canadian or what?? Oh ya you are.

This "gentleman" giving us something to worry about is as good an example of a Troll as I have seen in a while.

Kind of reminds me of the type that stand on the street corners and shouts "THE WORLD WILL END"

Well it will in about 5 Billion years.

Anyway that is my nontypical Canadian responce to the conserns expressed by the initial poster.

-- Brian (imager@home.com), January 16, 2000.

I just pulled up Texaco's chart and according to God's cycles the price is at a high. It will be dropping this week and continue to drop or move sideways for the next five months.

-- Just John (John@theBaptist.net), January 16, 2000.

If we learned anything from this forum, it's not to make predictions! If you do, you will get bitten in the nether parts. The only thing that flames worse than this place is the Vienna Boy's Choir.

-- Forrest Covington (theforrest@mindspring.com), January 16, 2000.

NOW, Forest, i REALLY thoink that Kurt covered it admirably. JC didn't seem to like that. OH WELL. I'll still look at the situation but I GOTS to have something to hang my hat on, in making decisions that have SERIOUS impacts on my bride and myself.

J.C.

You haven't given us any inside information. You seem to be upset that people want some sort of real information. We have seen way to much speculation on this forum that has probably cost people a lot of money, I know it has me. When you say " people aren't talking " what dose this really mean? I want to believe you. I'm sure you are well intentioned. If you know something more than a "hunch" tell us , otherwise you are only guessing and you should frame your statements as such.

-- Gambler (scotanna@arosnet.com), January 16, 2000.

This is DC,

Not RC or JC. Lady Logic and I have been working on a special top secret 'fossil fuel' project for the oil industry. We have developed a process to spontaneously 'create' gasoline from contrail mist. Supply is gonna become prodigious. The price will drop to near $0. Don't ask for details. Just believe me....or I'll never post here again. The oil crisis has been solved!

-- DC (InsideInfo@oilBiz.com), January 16, 2000.

Hi JC,

Thanks for the post. I believe the folks on here who responded were sincere in their requests for additional information...some pretty strong statements JC, so a request for clarification would be in order.

Obviously you feel strongly about this issue, and a "forum" is, by definition, "...an assembly for the discussion of public matters". Discussion involves questions and comments. So, I do hope you will continue this disucssion.

Thank you for your contributions.

Respectfully, Dee =)

-- Dee (T1Colt556@aol.com), January 16, 2000.

If the REAL *JC* (or his Father for that matter) was to tell me that oil was going to quadruple in price, of course I'd believe it without question. For now though, I'm a bit skeptical...

But then should it happen I've got enough gas & oil for personal use to last until the war starts.

Considering,

Frank

-- Someone (ChimingIn@twocents.com), January 16, 2000.

JC, nothing against you, but there's been a lot of predictions made here concerning earthquakes in the past, comets hitting the earth, the archives are full of predictions and so far nothing has happened. So, you can see why some here are leery to believe you. You may have the straight skinny but you're dangling the carrot, we want to know where did the carrot come from and is it safe to eat, that's all? There's nothing wrong with asking for the facts JC, wouldn't you want to know if the shoe was on the other foot? What are you afraid of and why did you post if you can't give the facts?

-- bardou (bardou@baloney.com), January 16, 2000.

For what's it's worth, unleaded gas went up 7 1/2 cents in three days (Wednesday,Thursday,Friday), heating oil was even more. Crude is back up. Here is the closing prices for Friday 1/14/00. These are all in the Feb. futures contract. Sweet Crude Oil - $28.02@ barrel, Unleaded Gas - 74.32 cents a gallon, Heating Oil - 73.81, Propane - 48.50 cents a gallon. We have had a fairly mild winter, on the average. Prices usually don't spike unless we are have extreme weather. I have learned that price charts and technical analysis is probably the best inside info you can get. Something is going down in the oil producing and refinery sector. Unleaded gas does not usually make these kind of highs in January. There is usually no demand for this commodity. So in a way JC is right so far. We are having a spike in prices for no good known reason, and I put emphasis on known reason. If anybody has a question please e-mail me. This is a real address. I am digging right now and try and uncover something hiding under a rock. Something is wrong, somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it.

In 60 days I'll be filling my gas-gussling beast with Amoco Ultimate - no problem!!!!!! (I've got some in a five gallon can!)

-- Phil Erup (thankGod@im.prepped), January 17, 2000.

No flame intended...BUT...if you are unable and/or unwilling to offer some concrete evidence for your statements, I'm afraid you will find yourself dismissed as a scare-mongering troll.

-- Irving (irvingf@myremarq.com), January 17, 2000.

All the "evidence" pointed to infrastructure failure throughout the world. We've got to climb out of our ruts.

-- Micharl (m@m.m), January 17, 2000.

Hi...this is PC, not JC or RC....I hope UC what IC..If we take a look the PM's this coming AM we may see some QC from the big guys. If the AC is still working in AZ, then we can assume that all will be well in DC.....oh, but about oil....I think it will be OK.

-- Chris Co (oil of olay@your finger tips.com), January 17, 2000.

Interesting theory I spotted on Kitco - Hmmmmmmmm...

Date: Sun Jan 16 2000 14:14

themine - "If "they" move oil prices to the upside it will be to blame OPEC for the financial crisis. They will say that it was oil prices what spoiled the party and not credit expansion. Just as it happened in the 1970s."

Well TPTB didn't use y2k did they???

FWIW, I would continue to keep my eye on the many posts being made here regarding problems in the oil industry. They will help to clarify the picture.

OK-- lets see if I got this straight.

ALL OF US---- are still befuddled with the mystery that was Y2K. And I mean Mystery!.

Having taken a royal ass whippen by the pollys for 24/7 and made to eat crow. Still standing--shell shocked with incredulity.

We get this numb nuts, that has the chutzpah to give us this insider crap and expect us all to jump on the oil future gravy train band wagon?? anybody crying wolf?

"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"

JC--- are you having fun? Be a man! not a mouse!

-- d........... (dciinc@aol.com), January 17, 2000.

Anybody got the poop on Venezuela? I'm positive a lot of their infrastructure slid down the mountain. How is their oil delivery mechanism?

-- Wupped (Riceonthebrain@Beans.com), January 17, 2000.

Our gasoline has been (central Ark) around $1.17-1.19 for the past several weeks. When I went home for lunch it was still $1.17 and when I came back about 30min later it was $1.25.

-- DM (martind9@nationwide.com), January 17, 2000.

South of Detroit, MI., husband filled up truck at $1.22 last Thurday. I filled up today, Monday, at $1.31. Nine cents a gallon is a substantial jump in 4 days.

-- Trish (adler2@webtv.net), January 17, 2000.

Price has gone down here...was $1.41 and went down to $1.36 gal. within last 10 days. Ft. Bragg, NC.

=)

-- Dee (T1Colt556@aol.com), January 17, 2000.

If I had to guess, and I've been wrong guessing before (of course I was right about Y2K as you all know and have all privately emailed me, lol), I would guess that JC, DC, are a couple of string pullers (students? debunkers? Diane? lol).

Only RC was the original oil doomer, settle for nothing less!

Regards,
