Only six states got more in grants in aid to transit than did Washington in 1998 (Last year for which statistics are available). These were California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York. We subsidize it more, the users pay LESS, and still the buses run empty? Screw transit. Build roads!
