Call from Dr's office

Got a call from my Chiro's assistant today. Asked me if I had got any cheques from British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP). I looked at my records and found I got a cheque from MSP for $14.20 in early Dec 1999 which I deposited to my bank. Said this should have been paid to Dr's office and asked me if I would pay them. Said it was a problem with their new 'puter software system installed in Oct.

With MSP. the state-run medical insurer will partially cover the first 10 visits to the chiro. After that, the patient must pay the full chiro fee. I used up my 10 visits by May of 1999. The $14.20 was paid to me by MSP on a file that was flagged by the chiro as being ineligble for benefits. I explained this and the assistant was stunned.

There seems to be a data transfer problem between the Chiro's office and MSP. Assistant told me they were having all sorts of problems and not collecting what is due from MSP and further, that MSP was instead paying these fee remittances to patients directly.

Looks like both the Dr's office and BC MSP have 'puter problems. Tick tick tick.......

itsy, Did you just call British Columbia a state ("the state-run medical insurer")? You are referring to British Columbia the Canadian province, right? Regards.

Thanks for the post. Seems to be many snafus crossed in the mail in your case. Please excuse Mr. PW -- he graduated from our public schools.

Paranoia;

You did know that a survey conducted among B.C. residents showed an overwhelming majority would opt for US statehood, right?

The Greatest Country on earth may soon be even greater.

G'day.

P.S. I think we would be willing to accept B.C. and the maritime provinces. You can keep that middle chunk and the big northern section you just gave away to the aboriginals, and *please* keep Quebec (if you can).
