Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... hello..??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TheLife : One Thread

Okay, so what's happening here.?

Why are shops now taking the mirrors out of the changing rooms and putting them in the middle of the store..?

Is this an Australian thing, or have we been infected by some other culture.

I need answers..

It's not an Australian thing, sadly. Over here in Canada, it's about half and half. I've been known to pass up trying something on and just not purchasing it at all if the dressing room doesn't have mirrors. It doesn't have to be a mirror on each wall of the room so you can inspect yourself from every conceivable angle, but at least one is mandatory for me.

I don't understand why they don't put mirrors on the inside either. Because God knows, most people don't feel like racing out into a store while screaming, "Excuse me, does anyone think this looks totally ridiculous on me?!"

Sheesh.

Well, our dressing rooms here in the US are apparently still safe from this strange phenomenon. We still have our own personal mirrors in our own personal dressing areas, so therefore when you put the clothes back on the rack and they ask "Didn't fit right?" you can simply say "Oh, it fit perfectly, but it just isn't my color. . . " and they will have no reason to believe otherwise.
