I have started breaking preps: Thank God for this Forum, I am going to start restoring even with more vigor than ever.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Since all seemed so quiet on the home front, even in the face of the posts here, I started foolishly breaking preps. Since seeing the lists of incidents Y2k, acts of God, and acts of man. Also the absence of the pollies, I am going to restore all my preps and even enhance what I have. Yesterday I dumped four fifty five gallon drums of water. Today I am going to restore them, the water needed changed anyhow, and the drums dried out. Without water we are sunk the same as the Titanic. I noticed the strange silence of Pollies of late, and the hourly growing of small leaks in the bottom of the ship. I feel personally that even God is having a hand in this. However let us not get started on the religion aspect of this. Long sermons bore me to tears.

The Pollies are really silent the last couple days. I was thinking our preps were for not (about Jan. 5-9 - seems longer ago than it really is, doesn't it?) but thought, "What's the point? It's gonna take effort to undo what we've done while it'll take no effort to stay prepared. Duh! No-Brainer! No effort and keep the preps."

Do your preps with steady steps.

My preps are all intact, they're gonna stay that way, and I'll just sit smug and confident that I am as ready as can be for whatever. Locked up with this flu bug, I don't have to run around for anything, so the preps are very handy right now. And, as soon as I am up and rolling again, the preps will go right on.

I simply dont' trust all this "everything is fine" stuff, when problems are popping up all over.

Same here, Nlf, but my twist has been to distribute some of my excess to a number of needier folks I know, who would have received some vittles anyhow. I was hesitant at first, thinking that several would be opposed to "charity", so I made mention of the fact that I had run out of room and would they please help me out by taking this stuff off my hands? Worked great, but will remain vigilant through this board should events necessitate another massive shopping run. J. Henry

Keep your preps and add to them for as long as you can. The pollies are silent because they have nothing to counter all of the Y2K problems we've seen to date. It's getting worse every day and they're crawling under their rocks like the cowards they are. Frankly, they can stay there.

Yes, the pollies are AWOL. We seem to have lost the momentary gloater John H. Krepasky, as soon as the nuclear incidents began burgeoning. And just yesterday, with refineries gooing KaBLOOIE everythwere, and 3 (count'em, 3!!) amonia leaks in one day, all "unrelated", Flint takes off, like "best to quit while you're ahead". One wonders whether he's not lurking somewhere, or wll appear under another screen name, defending himself as a true moderate!

"The pollies are silent because they have nothing to counter all of the Y2K problems we've seen to date."

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA! Oh, Good Lord, no, nothing at all! My power is on, my gas and water work fine, my car starts, my paychecks are being direct-deposited JUST FINE. Guy, the FEW Y2K problems that have appeared have been so minor as to be almost insignificant. Why bother countering NOTHING?

"It's getting worse every day and they're crawling under their rocks like the cowards they are."

Here I am. Throw rocks at me. Tell me how it's getting worse. You people will believe ANYTHING, won't you? Any technical problem that appears right now HAS to be Y2K doesn't it? Funny paychecks NEVER appeared before Y2K, huh? Power stations NEVER ran at less than full capacity before January 1, huh? Give me a break.

"Frankly, they can stay there."

Frankly, this is an open forum. Think I'll post to my heart's content.

We don't "break" our preps, we eat from them and replace them. The only difference Y2k made was that we bought extra for neighbors and family, and maintain a larger pantry than we had before.

Your preps are not a package, they're a flywheel. Just keep it turning slowly. We eat our preps every day, but they're still all there.

Er... not to burst anyone's bubble, but I think the reason most of the "pollies" stopped posting here is the most simple, obvious one: they got bored and found something else to do. And as soon as the irrelevant glitch reports and such stop being funny to me, so will I.

Like I said somewhere else on this forum, I think you guys are looking too hard.

You're gonna have to do a lot better than that.

Y2K problems are MINIMAL. Basically business as usual.

You sound like you're wanting a serious failure.

Kinda sad if ya think about it.......

Why did the Polly's leave? Gee, I thought the reason they left was because they finally built their own playhouse (shaky as it may be). This is such a nice, civilized neighborhood, now.

I try to make something humorous out of everything. But I find nothing funny about acting like a bunch of neutered sheep expecting Farmer Sam to show up every day and feed us out of sheer appreciation for the privilege of being our leader. When what he's really doing is "fattening" us up until we are too bloated to decipher what is real and what is false.

People do it all the time - brainwashing - (hmmmm, maybe THAT's how that brain got in the sewer...)until we are just numb to things that would have previously set off alarm bells. But it seems more and more common to believe it is shameful, even Un-American, to be suspicious of what our gov. may be doing and that we are "extreme" for raising questions. So many blissfully graze in the current field of media blither without so much as a bleat. I prefer to be a randy ole' goat...Lord knows I have plenty of tin cans to live on! HA

There's an interesting topic at www.sightings.com about how one of the major networks and other media biggies are shooting digitally created pictures on a screen behind the reporters and it looks like they are really there doing the story. A story Cokie Roberts was doing in D.C. turned out to be a fake picture of the grounds, etc. They got in trouble for that one, but the scary thing is how the exec's are excusing away what goes on as "not illegal." What else can they beam out to us? And I don't mean they, as in aliens.

Sorry, I'm suddenly writing tomes...

Notforlong,

Just be sure and filter any tap water. National chemtrail effort likely to have contaminated all water at this point, even if they have not been spraying directly in your area. Just a suggestion.
