The Credit Card reporting system failed in SW Florida today. Last I heard (three hours ago) it still wasn't up. Happened three days ago, as well, though more localized.

Vendors we're stating openly that it's being caused by a Y2k computer problem. In some areas business came to a complete halt.

According to the manager of his Country Club when my friend tried to pay his bill at 4:00 PM this afternoon, not a credit card in Lee County, FL was working, though I understand the problem was more extensive than that. Three days ago in north Cape Coral, it was cash only in a couple of stores where I tried to pick up a few things. The vendors could not access their systems.

I got a notice from eBay that said my credit card was declined. I called my credit card company, they reviewed my record, said nothing was declined nor was there any reason for a declination. The glitch was on eBays side. I've emailed them but so far haven't heard from them yet after a couple days.

I also received an email today from ebay,saying that my credit card was declined.I don't know why because I have enough credit to cover the bill.I will call my bank tomorrow.
