OT? Paging Wisconsin--info about explosion in mfg plant?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

On my way to work I caught the end of a radio news report that there had been an explosion in a manufacturing plant in Wisconsin. The report indicated 8-12 persons were injured, and that firefighters hadn't extinguished the fire, as they were unable to enter the building at the time of the report. Is there any further info about this explosion?

Five people were reported to have suffered injuries, but another 25 to 30 people were sent to local hospitals to be evaluated for the effects of ammonia.

Assistant Fire Chief Richard Trilling said the injuries to the five were respiratory and are not life-threatening.

A woman who answered the phone at the company but declined to be identified said the release had been contained, and that although there had been a report of an explosion, one had not taken place.

Thanks, tt! I would assume this must be the one I heard about this morning. Apparently the report of an explosion has since been retracted.

Second or third amonia leak in a week. Late last week, Thursday or Friday, there was a leak of anhydrous amonia, think it was in Florida.
