I am curious if anyone East (far East) has any information of any problems or disruptions in China. The poorer North wasn't much of a concern because most of the equipment is pre-chip old but the South and Coastal regions were/are another story. Reports from China seem few and far between.

I haven't heard a thing about China. However, I have heard from a neighboring country with a large population: India. A long-term friend and colleague there, who heads the Quality Assurance Institute (an IT consulting firm that focuses on software quality) told me in email this morning that there have been "no reports" of any Y2K problems in the country.
