RUSSIAN POLICE, however, said that two soldiers broke into the embassy for unknown reasons and were stopped by a U.S. Marine guard, who opened fire. The wounded man was identified as Yevgeny Taynakov, 23, the Interfax news agency said. The U.S. Embassy confirmed that an intruder was wounded, but refused to give details or say if the incident was a shooting involving a Marine guard. The Russian military prosecutors office told The Associated Press that the wounded man was a soldier, but gave no further details.
