FYI, there is a thread on Michael Hyatt's site in the BugWatch section that reports a few people in parts of the U.S. have had difficulty buying gasoline with credit cards, and in some cases cash, in the last few days.

In Houston, TX local Texaco retailers had Y2K difficulty with credit card readers. I was in the on at Memorial and Kirkwood in West Houston late in the evening on 1/2/2000 when repairs were under way. They appear to have been completed by 1/3/2000.
