Is anyone missing bills/other mail?

My husband and I realized we never received either of our credit card statements. After thinking about it, we realized we never received 4 of our magazines. We are getting some mail - so we never realized that we were missing the other items. I also never received my Publisher's Clearing House entry form the last week of December... I'm sure its Y2K related. I received my February mortgage statement about 1 month early - when I received it I thought, "Hmmmmm, thats odd." Now I'm wondering if I'll receive a statement for March.

Does anyone know if there is a prize for most pitiful stretch to blame something on Y2K?

Sheera,

I not only have received all my bills (rats!) but I got a letter from Nepal and a magazine from Slovenia. The letter from Nepal actually came in just 6 days which is some kind of record. My guess is that the post office is working just fine - don't know about Publisher's Clearing House though.

I had major problems with my phone bill prior to y2k when I switched to MCI. I was over billed by approx. $130 After 2 months of trying to straighten it out, I finally switched back to ATT. MCI customer service told me they were having computer problems, but that was back in November. I have not received my final bill. I believe I read somewhere that the top CEO with MCI Worlcom resigned. Hmmmm...

Also, I had a problem with JC Penney with a Christmas order I placed. I was charged double and the package was missing an item and their records showed it was sent from a different warehouse. I'm still confused on that one. Anyway, I am still waiting for the credit to go through. Customer service said it was a computer error, but the problem showed up about 2 weeks before Christmas, not post rollover.

We have been checking our bills very carefully, and it seems like a good idea to do so. =)

I sent 3 priority mail packages last monday and purchased delivery confimation on all 3. They have not arrived to their destinations yet and the post office website for delivery confirmation says my items were recieved at 3:53 last monday and are enroute to their destinations.

Yes this is highly irregular. Every Monday we do these mailings for my wifes business. This is how she submits for payment of services. These packages are always recieved by Wed. each week. Today we used Fed Ex.

Im in a one more month holding pattern with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Decembers bill was wrong and they said it would be credited to Januarys bill. Well I got Januarys bill and no credit on it. I called again and they said next months bill would be credited for both months. I asked her if she would promise and didn't get a response. There was a deduction that should of happened on Jan lst because of a change. If this keeps up they will owe me. Don't know if this is a glitch but I was told last month that their computer would automatically pick it up and its evident that didn't happen.

Still missing my Bank One Visa bill for this month and it's due in 10 days. Don't think this is y2k related, I've had crappy service from them for years.

Letter from Slovenia arrived in 11 days or so.

Already had a "set-too" with Wells Fargo. Nothing with the mail, they just hadn't sent it. However, it was my fault. I sent them a check, which they didn't get so I stopped payment on this check and sent them another. So, they credited the first check, and didn't credit the second. Remember the first check had a stop payment. I could go on and on with this nonsense. But remember in dealing with them, "...it's MY fault." It took three weeks of constant phone calls and fooling around to get it all squared away. But remember, it was MY fault. At this point I am watching all bills like a bird looking at a worm.

Oops! Started rattlin and forgot the jest of the post. Anyway, on the Blue Cross bill I received the bill one week earlier than I've ever received it.

No tax forms from the IRS yet. I always get them in the first 4-5 days of the year. Odd...
