HAWK SAYS

Hawk says..............Listen to Hawk..................It's not a bank run................No, it's a bank walk...................

<<"He said it's not a Y2K glitch, even though the problem cropped up after Jan. 1."

HAWK SAYS IT IS A Y2K GLITCH.

"said the affected debit cards expired Dec. 31 but should have automatically been extended."

HAWK SAYS MAYBE THE REASON THEY WEREN'T "AUTOMATICALLY EXTENDED" IS BECAUSE THEY HAD SOME PROBLEMS DEALING WITH THE YEAR "00".

HAWK SAYS A LOT OF MONEY IS BEING DRAWN OUT OF BANKS AND INTO CIRCULATION BECAUSE PLASTIC MONEY IS BECOMING TOO DIFFICULT TO USE.

HAWK SAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD HUNK OF CHANGE OUT OF THE BANKS IN CASE EVERYONE ELSE GETS THE SAME IDEA.

So there Patrick, another polly come lately ,hindsight toooting big brain. How about an original thought of your own.......hmmmmmmmm? Tell me what you think what may or may-not happen? You have impressed us all jumping on the i know all polly crap now bandwagon. Where were you 8 mos ago when there were just a handfull of "polly thinking minds" stating the obvious

Kevin,

I think you took what I said the wrong way. I liked what "Hawk" said and simply meant that a bank-run could begin "slowly" (like a "walk") if enough credit-related glitches occur over time. I even tried to create a picture of a hawk, which is what that was at the bottom. I was trying to be light-hearted and humorous, not sarcastic or belligerent. I only found this forum about a week ago, and have been following the Y2K situation for about 3 or 4 years. As I've posted earlier, I think Y2K is far from over and still expect unprecedented fall-out. If I read you right, you thought I was of the opposite opinion. At any rate, I try to never be sarcastic or confrontatious, though firm in what I consider to be the documented facts. I try to stay out of ad hominem, polemical debates. I'm sorry if you took it that way. Here is what I said previously about Y2K:

The Age Today's Business

Rollover chaos may strike offices by Leon Gettler Monday 3 January 2000

...THE GLOBAL IT INDUSTRY RESEARCH FIRM, THE GARTNER GROUP, EXPECTS THE YEAR 2000 PROBLEM TO CAUSE COMPUTER FAILURES AROUND THE WORLD THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR AND POSSIBLY INTO 2001 AS WELL.

IT HAS FORECAST THAT 50 PER CENT OF Y2K FAILURES WILL BE SPREAD OUT OVER 2000.

THE UNITED NATIONS-SPONSORED Y2K DATA CLEARING HOUSE HAS ALSO WARNED THAT FULL IMPACT OF ANY YEAR 2000 PROBLEMS WILL BE LARGELY HIDDEN UNTIL MID-TO-LATE JANUARY.

THE DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL Y2K COOPERATION CENTER, MR. BRUCE MCCONNELL, SAID Y2K ERRORS WILL BECOME EVIDENT DAYS AND WEEKS AFTER THE ROLLOVER. (end of quote)

[COMMENT: such mainline information suggests that it is inapproprate to discount Y2k at this juncture. Y2k glitches have "apparently" (or non-apparently?) just begun. If so, it will soon render many of these current, Pollytheistic "told you so" banterings, mockings, stonings and scourgings of the so-called Y2k false prophets obsolete as they may yet unexpectedly rise, tattered, from the dead. Time alone will tell the truth...a truth which may--and according to those above acknowledged, mainline sources, will--be bitterly hard for the unprepared to swallow. What would it take to spark off a panic situation? What "per cent" of failures and where and how? One insolvent bank making the headlines? A stock market glitch? A "sudden" gas shortage? A food distribution problem? No electricity or water? Is it all that foolish to think there may be more to it, more to come, then to disregard hardcore information such as shown above?; to magically think it was all just a bad dream that we've now woken from despite all of the previous, exhausting, documented, undeniable facts, and broken, incompliant systems that still exist, waiting to be uncovered? Or, is the nightmare yet to arrive? Nothing has (seemingly) happened yet, but, surely, it will. Surely...it will.]

and,

>>ISN'T THERE A BIG PIECE TO THE PUZZLE STILL MISSING IN ALL OF THIS?... WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON? I AM VERY CURIOUS AND CONFUSED<<

[Comment: Don't be confused. Didn't Alan Greenspan say that even 99% fixing within banking would not be good enough? As for the missing pieces to eventually complete the enigmatic Y2K jigsaw during the next few months, they're out there; and in the facts presented within this forum. It's just that we're being told to prematurely put the puzzle away or that the parts just don't fit. As the coming days go by, I believe the overall picture will sufficiently emerge to depict the accurate tableau at that time, whatever that may be. Just be patient and wait. Soon enough we shall ALL find out the answer all are seeking for through the often hostile environment of this public forum. Let the truth come out. It cannot be held back forever. The truth is, much of these programs were not fixed, and to stone-facedly predict that they will not present any problems in the future is shear fantasy. We were told: that only 5% of any failures would occur "at around the time of rollover"--yet we wonder why "nothing has happened yet". That 50-80% of all problems would occur in the "days, weeks and months" beyond the rollover, even into 2001 and beyond; that the shockwaves of any problems would be "largely hidden" until well into January; that most systems were simply turned off at the time of rollover and turned on later this past week; that certain glitches may not become "activated" (accessed) until a later, and oftentimes, unknown date; that the world banking system will face a challenge in one week with resumption of specific international transactions that have been heretofore prohibited up till now; that most companies and organizations are remaining tight-lipped for insurance reasons; that there is a virtual gag on reporting problems; that a mainstream-media spin-control/ blackout situation basically exists; that very little is supposedly "Y2K related"; that Y2K is presently awash in a hopeless, banal sea of relativism; that the only reality left is polly/ doomer dialectics; to substitute opinion for cold, hard fact through psychological and social intimidation. The TRUTH is, NOTHING has changed since only one week, except the notion that Y2K was never a one day event (a one shot deal) to begin with; that corruption takes time; that there never was a silver bullet. The sooner we learn this, the better we'll be able to handle the superb propaganda hoisted upon an often too trusting people in a matter that may still well effect ones very life (as well as soul). With such stakes, was it (is it still?) so foolish to have taken logical and precautionary preparation measures? Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and unto God, that which is God's--for He may be the only One left to help us out of the coming, ever-increasingly darkening times about to come upon this planet. A time which no one expects...]

P.S. -- I merely highlited in BOLD LETTERS what Hawk himself said. It was not I who said those things. He was quoting what was written in an article and responding with "Hawk says".

Sorry Patrick for the ill-timed flame. I realize my error. We're being bombarded since the rollover and i suspected another
