Can anyone provide link last month when BP provided kits to dealers with signs "Cash Only", etc.?

Mine went through, others didn't. At the station they have been told to expect it to only get worse through March, a "CASH ONLY" sign may soon go up. Paper checks may not be accepted, as POS terminals get screwier, some will attempt to take advantage of the confusion by writing bad checks.

I remember that thread ... but can't find the link. If anyone can find it - it would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else having problems at BP?

I picked this up from this thread:

I went to BP today and the teller was pretty ugly.

Porky, They let you out? Now I am scared.

Hey Porky,

Aren't you going to tell us about the embeddeds failing in the remote control locks of cellblock D and the main gate?

Porky, which was it "pretty" or "ugly"?

I am not sure but it might be in the archives under 'utilites'.

At least BP thought it through and made plans. Mostly I use that station because the owner and I are both very 'local' and I would rather keep my money in the neighborhood.

BTW As far as I know it wasn't crashing on BP cards. It took my debit card because it's a debit card, I have seen reports that the glitches involving cards are mostly credit cards only, which of course charge interest and may be more susceptible to date problems.

This was only an annoyance to the station, it might have been more of a problem if the card was all you had. Carrying enough cash to get a tank of gas or an emergency tow is always a good idea anyway.

Cheryl --

My head is filled with details from that report, even though I can hardly remember them. That makes me think it may have been ... was it BP's SEC 10-Q filing?? Or a report from a franchisee detailing the elements of the kit. You might check on Gary North's site, under Oil or Petroleum ..... my internal databases are confabulated.

It was a franchisee who received the kit. It's not worth the effort to pursue though. But, I thought it was interesting that you made the connection.

I think the post was made by Gordon Gecko.
