TERRORIST ) All those Government terrorist stories were exaggerated to scare people and use that excuse as a COVER UP if Chemical plants and Nuclear plants blew up, they would have had that excuse to say TERRORIST blew them up IT WAS NOT Y2K RELATED and nobody gets sued.

CYBER - TERRORISM ) If Government agencies OR power grids OR large Corporations break down they will blame it on CYBER-TERRORISM and NO IT WAS NOT Y2K RELATED nobody gets sued

MEDIA ) Media COVER UP is the same there protecting there skin not to get sued and protect there advertisers nothing is EVER Y2K RELATED. THEY MUST help the Government with this COVER UP so lets keep everyone in the dark the less they know the better. Like that nobody gets sued.

So like the old story goes YOU SCARTCH MY BACK and I'll scratch your back. SORRY if I offend anyone thinking this way. But we still live in a free country. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT.

Is Kosky a politician? He has an uncanny ability to be on all sides of an issue. He said that Y2k was a 3 day storm, yet the Government experts were claiming that IRS, Post Office, FAA, and the Federal Government Payments systems were not fixed, he said to prepare for terrorist activity, and if there are power failures, they are not Y2k related and anything that happens is not the result of Y2k. Amazingly, there were no power failures caused by y2k or any other cause. This is amazing as there are power failures every day from other causes. It is difficult to believe that there were none in the world during rollover. Will he soon be taking credit for alerting people so that every thing was fixed in time? A truly fantastic performance. No one mentioned that windowing was used to roll the clocks back to delay the problems or that hidden problems are causing internal errors right now that will surface and cause numerous wrong bills and wrong amounts in various databases. Does he plan to run for Congress? He has an incredible amount of name recognition and his name is associated with fixing Y2k and don't worry, it will be a minor storm.

Curly is still scratching his head about how all of the experts were wrong. He didn't understand how a date change could cause all of those problems and as it turned out, he knew more about it than the experts. Either that or the impacts were somehow delayed.

Money Making hype. If one iota of scientific method had been applied, $Billions would have been saved. The very fact that I am typing this message is proof.

For the past two years the best answer from the best chip heads has been "the computer MAY read the date wrong", not: "The underlying machine code that makes the damn thing work will not be able to communicate with the operating system, causing the whole works to to go catatonic. Which by the way is what happened to gov't and business when confronted with a problem that required some serious analytical thought instead of allowing a date rollover problem similar to feb 28- mar 1 to become a digital War of the Worlds.

Well done chippies, but don't expect to pull it off again. Yeah, I know that right now your're thinking along party lines: "nothing happened because we all did such a great job in fixing y2k". It won't stand up. Admit the method was akin to hunting mosquitos with a bazooka and 'fess up. Your credibility as an industry is on the line.

Bernie thats my take on it also. The media damage control was put in advance of y2k incase it did bring down the infrastructure that way they would have minimal resistance in implementing martial law and the complete suspension of the consititution. Their best guess workaround fix worked and thet did not have to exercise this extreme option before early. Some day in our future it will happen when all their power pieces are in place. There is a consolidation of power happening in the world these days and one day in the not to distant future it will come to pass. The Population will be trimed by a planned event and one group will imerge as the one world governing body. At this point individual nation states and our soverignty will cease to be honored and a one world digital currency will be force on every one who wants to economical survive. Before this comes about there will be a great revolt. It may happen in 1 year or it may take 10 years but it's not to far in the future. As I said it will happen when all the current ruling elete have all there pieces in place. Right now there are to many countries out of the mix to let it go down smoothly the way they want it,Russia,and China threaten retaliation So y2k was dealt with. They want Full control and power not distruction. The pie is being negotiated at this time to see who will get what in the New world order Govt.

2Hawks... While I don't support the government cover up theory completely there are aspects of this situation which were quite probably over blown for the reasons stated. Personally I place little creedence in the idea that the media is capable of covering up much of anything as it violates the tenets of their livelyhood. To sell advertising one must get the headlines and all that...

Did the fed spend too much money? Since they usually do, I'd say yes they did. Did they get the job done? From the neat cover stories that have allowed them to declare victory very early in the game, I'd say they did not believe they spent enough money and weren't confident things would go as cleanly as they have. I also belive they don't think the SOFTWARE issues will be nearly as cleanly remediated as the hardware issues now APPEAR to have been. But hey, I'm just a cynical old man, what do I know?

To be really honest with you, TooHawks, my real concern is the software that NEVER reads the date at all. The software that is so far above the hardware that it can be compiled and run on damn near any piece of hardware ever made (and has been).
