SOLAR STORMS AND THE POWER GRID

Unto a new subject:

Who has any knowledge on the Solar Storms early this year. Rumor has it, scientists warn that this could mean beginning the new millennium without electricity.

Researchers have forcasted that the sun is about to enter the most violent and disruptive part of its eleven year cycle which will begin in January 2000.

Eleven years ago a pulse from a Solar Storm struck the earth and completely knocked out the Canadian as well as parts of North America's electrical grid, leaving more than 8 million people without power for days.

ANY EXPERTS OUT THERE? Would like to know the deal cork

The solar cycle does not repeat at exactly 11 years-could be 10 or could be 12. There are some graphs of past cycles at: http://www.dxlc.com/solar/

If you didn't worry about Y2k, then don't worry about this at all. We learn from past experience. There were more solar disturbances than Y2ks!

"Rumor has it, scientists warn..." Forget rumors.

Got postponed!!

New data show the maximum will not be before the midd of the year. Even this is a guess as it could be easy next year if the sun continious to behave as it does right now

The sun had a Y2K failure and will not be doing anymore flares until the problem is fixed.

John Krepansky and Cheri from Sams Brigadoon fixed the sun a couple of weeks back.

Don't worry about solar flares; you'll be dead from the chemtrails before then. Or if not, surely that comet that was going to destroy the Earth last fall will arrive by then.

I think this whole solar storm business is just a hoax to scare us into buying useless junk like hats and sunglasses. There hasn't even been an M-class flare since way before Christmas. As reasonable and sober-minded citizens, we shouldn't care about this sun scam but should put all our money in things that build our economy, such as Beanie Babies and internet stocks.

Get a grip, people! Elevators will not fall from the sky, and neither will the NASDAQ!

Oh, wait . . . never mind.

interesting story

The "Canadian" electrical grid did not fail in 1989 - QuebecHydro did. I gotta use the semi-famous Steve Martin quote "You Americans are SO naive!" We are not only your neighbours but also your #1 trading partner (admit it it, that's news to you . . . even though we've been your #1 trading partner every year sine WWI).

-- Think It (Through@Pollies.Duh), January 07, 2000.

THE SATELLITE DATA IS COOKED.

That's why there are no M-class flares.

The Kp index is cooked.

(and the solar flare data DOES have military value- even for silly ol ICBM's and GPS

The most interesting slant on this is that the ELS and other bible codes reveal these things. Check out these interesting bible codes found in the SUNSPOT-IMMOBILIZE DOMAIN OF A METROPOLIS cluster.

See the link: http://www.internetwire.com/technews/tn/01986045.dsl

***EXACT OVERLAPS-APPEAR ONCE IN NUMBERS 7***

IMMOBILIZE DOMAIN OF A METROPOLIS or IMMOBILIZE DOMAIN OF A MATRIX- MILLENNIUM-MALFUNCTION-sun-year (Word 5, Letter 1)

MALFUNCTION-CRUSH TELECOMMUNICATIONS-dead satellite-circuit breaker- sun-sun-atm (Word 6, Letter 2)

SUNSPOT-SATELLITE Wither-y2k (Word 3, Letter 1)

CORRUPTED MATRIX-CORRUPTED CODE-gps-relatedness-y2k-empty-bank (Word 2, Letter 1)

ALTER-circuit breaker-grid (Word 2, Letter 4)

grid-dead amplifier (Word 2, Letter 3)

While it would obviously be a hazardous exercise to make predictions from the above suggested linkages, it is quite curious that what is suggested falls in line with concerns expressed by NOAA spokesmen about the risks of heavy sun storms downing power systems and disabling satellites and telecommunications. Some of the above linkages also suggest various Y2K-bug-related difficulties.
