Light twin crashed about one mile from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre airport. Witnesses on the ground reported hearing the engines "running rough and popping". Two persons aboard, both looked seriously burned in the footage shown on the six o'clock news.

Yes a commuter plane crashed in Pa. Was heard on WGAL NEWS at around 6:28pm. Was late breaking news. Witness said at least one person was pulled alive from wreck. Don't know any other details except it was a commuter with 30-40 aboard.

Just asked the wife about the plane crash, (she was in the room watching..I was in the hall. The plane was a commuter but the report said 6-8 people on board...however that has not been confirmed. Sorry for the previous post saying 30-40...thats what I thought I heard. Don't want to spread bad info.

Truth!, I will not lie! I called an a/c programmer last year, asked if they were worried, "No. Nada". I said "think about it", then they slowly said, well, there might be trouble in the Landing Gear of X, the Infra-red of Z. The Beast is bigger than the knowledge of human kind.

10:00 news : two dead -- pilot and passenger. miracle no injuries or damage on ground: crashed in wooded section of a residential section of Old Forge, not too far from airport. FAA is there. NTSB still on there way.

Know nothing about aircraft but the thread about the jumbo jet that crashed due in part to a faulty altitude director indicator caught my eye.Tonight's accident happened in dark and cloudy skies and the approach to the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre airport is a bitch : I am wondering if a smaller craft like this one has the same altitude instrumentation?
