"Hamre, who oversees the Defense Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency and other Pentagon spy arms, said the intelligence warnings on Y2K were an "honest" view of in-house fears "that there were going to be more significant problems than there were." I'm wondering why we feel the need to find scapegoats to beat over the head of those who brought to our attention problems revolving around y2k. I had the same opportunity as everyone here to judge the possibility for disruption within my families' life, and I choose to prepare. Not because anyone rammed their opinion upon me, but because I, and I alone, made a choise based upon my accessment.

It should be noted in the above statement, even those who should have known, did not know.

I am glad the new year rolled over so smoothly. Even those who predicted a BITR, have to admit they are amazed at the results thus far.

You're a great bunch of folks. We may never find a common cause to which we all agree upon. There are to many variables. The unknowns and uncertainties of the future still face us. My greater loss would be this community desolving into oblivion. Too many are signing off.

I once told Flint I felt like he was the "Pendulem swinging on my clock" Sometimes I need a monkey on my back (no reflection on Flint). Hang around please! Someone may have to restart my clock. Thanks again, Tommy
