what is frustrating other than the level of venom--is that it makes it impossible to determine if there are trends in the types of occurrances being reported because there is so much trash and sniping that can ruin a good thread. i wish they would just find something else to do now that everything is Y2K-OK!!

I didn't really do anything to prepare for Y2K, and the glitch reports I've read on this and other forums strike me as mostly trivial. Inconvenient, yes, (and sometimes pretty funny) but not exactly life-threatening. And as long as the lights stay on, my ATM card is okay, Meijers is stocked and my Playstation works, I don't feel any great need to worry about them. Nor do I feel any need to antagonize the people who chose to take certain steps before the rollover. They did it for their families, themselves and their friends, and I can hardly fault them for that.

My point is this: even though you'd probably classify me as one of the "pollies," that doesn't automatically mean I'm here to insult people or spew any form of venom. Nor does it mean that I am a "stupid worthless moron" as someone else here so charmingly put it. It simply means that I have a different point of view.

Although I can understand your frustration with those who have chosen to act childishly, stooping to their level and making nasty generalizations only makes YOU look bad.

Their "job", Ron, is to overwhelm, divide, distract, confuse, dispirit and distract one of the few remaining open channels of information [and supposition :)] on Y2K failures occurring 'after the event.'

The Y2K command centres have all been publicly scaled down or closed. 'Victory' has been declared. Nothing must now be permitted to disturb the herd.

Few of the Pollies have any serious interest in this - those that do were already persuaded of their own 'rightness' a year or more ago. The rest are either 'on the job' for who knows who or a study in sick, obsessive psychological aberrations and vindictiveness.

Flame away, Pollies - I now never bother reading answers after I've posted :)!
