I thik my dog is not compliant.....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I had one of those ID chips put in my dog last month, and now she is acting pretty strange. Does this come under the category of 'embeded systems'? Any advice would be appreciated. Well, maybe not 'any' advice.....

Whatever.

My kids aren't compliant either, but that's another story.

Nothing that corporal punishment won't fix. Also, ADD is a hoax too!

No....embedded systems would be when you can't get the Basinji out of your bed :) My kids are just complaicent.

Yes, it is an embedded system and has been referred to as the Y2K9 problem. Please let us know the make and model of your pooch as there are different FOFs (Fix on Fidos).

Also-- for those who have embedded chips in cats-- not to worry. As you know, cats are rarely compliant to begin with! ;-)

Bob,

I know ADD is a hoax, but what about viagra?

Winter:

Excellent, excellent! LOL!!!

You've explained a lot; thanks! Our birds must be suffering from a Y2keet problem, then. Don't know about the guinea pig, though. . . .

I tried to reprogram our parrot but all she wants to do now is hang upside down or go to the shower with my wife. (You know, I kinda resent that. That used to be MY treat..the shower, that is.) Successfully reprogramed the horses only now the one that is a western pleasure winner goes english and vice versa.

Don't even TRY to reprogram your cats, folks. The code is broken. It can't be fixed. Attempting to Fix on Feline may cause cascading cross defaults, not to mention scratches... er,..glitches.

Mine are still disgusted that I included myself in our kitty litter storage plans. And they fail to see the humor in their entire porch being clogged with "their" bottled water - a 6 month supply for me or about 25 years for them. But they know the value of the stacked cases of cat food, and they hear me purring. "It's a good thing."
