Another Y2K non-compliant system...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

The radio reported that some people have pre-purchased their tombstones with "DOB - 19 " on it. If they survived this far then the tombstone is not Y2K compliant. Wife was telling this story at lunch when a woman exclaimed, 'SH_T'. Seems that her tombstone is not Y2K compliant.

Surely you mean DOD - Date of Death rather than DOB - Date of Birth. Or is that Date of Burial !!!!

Oh please. Everyone knows Microsoft will be releasing a "patch" for that.

Bwahahaha! Good one, man! As if a person's Date of Birth would change because of the rollover. How long did your wife let that woman think she needed a new tombstone?

Careful Simpleminded, it depends on what kind of windowing strategy they use in their fix.

hehe ok I will clarify.

Tombstones have been sold with "DOB - 19" on them. If you were born in 1980 then it would read "1980 - 19"; upon death they fill out the remaining 2 digits -- just like a bank cheque.
