Sigma zooms

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

In researching, I am finding statistically that, the Sigma zoom lenses such as 70/75 to 300 seem to fair reasonably well. However, when reading user comments, the shoe is on the other foot. I am basically a Nikonite, however am consider giving in to some of these Sigma temptatations. I would love to hear from some tried-and-true users of this(these) Sigma lenses. How is the contrast, color, and their potential for enlargements?? Thanks much.

I owned the Sigma 70-300 4.5/5.6 APO macro for many years and got several published images from it. IMO it is an extremely sharp and versatile lens for the money. I traded it last year when I fpu would be very happy with this lens. Don,t get the DL, rather the APO. The 1:2 macro feature is great too.
