De Jager Warns Of Complacency

By Steve Gold, Newsbytes.

"As you read this, the stark reality of Y2K is making itself known around the world. If we are facing technological trauma, despite earnest and sincere warnings, then we have only ourselves to blame. If we've muddled through or shuffled around the crisis, we were lucky," he said.

According to De Jager, the real reason Y2K became a reality "is that we had no clue what we were doing." "We were making it up as we went along," he said.

De Jager argues that, if the computer industry had paid more attention to the risks associated with computer applications scheduled to expire on a particular date, then it would have put safeguards in place to help minimize the consequences.

You would think he'd fall of the fence eventually... I guess a**holes have good balance.

I think DeJager has gotten scared that all his and the establishment's "no big deal anymore" propoganda has been maybe too effective.

Suddenly, Peter DeJager is just another profiteer... maybe remediation was unnecessary?? (according to the public impression, i.e.).

Suddenly he's having to get back on the doomer wagon to convince others he was not just a wolf-crier!

What a chameleon (sp).
Meanwhile, true Y2K errors are entering the system at the speed of light, ignored by the society of liberals...
