In the 1/4/2000 edition of the Raleigh, NC, News & Observer, a letter to the editor written by Randy Hogg states in part:

"As a 20-year hospital systems consultant, I hear from many small to mid-sized hospitals around the nation that all is far from well with their systems. Hospital management, however, is trying to keep the lid on the story for obvious reasons." END QUOTE

I personally know absolutely nothing about this, but for those tracking anecdotes, you can add this to your list.

We have a friend who works in the IT dept. in a large Hospital in Indy. He went to work on Newyears eve and has only been home twice since. His wife is real scared. They were in y2k denial big time all year.

I was in the hospital yesterday...my wife delievered a baby boy. Needless to say, we were checked in on their computer system and she was hooked up to a computer all day which monitored her progress. All of the other computers worked fine as well.
