A Positive Vision of the Future

From Clifford Ribaudo

Dear Jeff,

I thought it necessary to make a few comments on Y2K and your site. For the last year I have watched with interest and sadness as prediction after prediction of "End Time" demise scrolled across your pages. I guess in the final analysis I am sad and disappointed that seemingly so few people, at least the ones you choose to represent on your site, have a positive outlook for the future. What is it about humanity that often causes it, in the face of the unknowableness of the future, to assume the worst rather than the best?!

I have seen little on your site commenting on the tremendously positive events of the day. Those of us who watched with utter amazement, joy and often tears in our eyes at the pageant of the Lord's one great humanity that marched westward across the globe with the sun could hardly believe what was happening. This day, predicted by many to be the end, was in fact a beginning of the New Age. An age which leaves behind the past, dark and war ridden Millennium. One characterized by the dark and limited conceptions of the Christian view of "End Times" and Armageddon etc.

This is a new age and belongs to our generation. It is ours to shape and mold. It is up to us to construct a new and positive vision for our world.

It is my opinion that because people are often inherently negative, and because they are lacking in any clear conception of what a positive vision for the future might be, they assume the worst. However if one considers carefully what just happened on this past New Years, there was the inklings of the New Age and a New Vision. It began with that first island in the South Pacific with the local king and his son lighting a light for the world and getting into a boat to sail across the sea to carry this light to all men! These so called "Primitive Heathens" said more in that simple and most beautiful gesture about the true Spirit of the Christ, as the messenger of the Father, than most Westerners can even comprehend! Nation after nation crossed into the New Millennium with it's own offering to the watching world. And many of them were incredibly beautiful, deeply spiritual and positive messages! For one brief 24 hour period the world was united in a global celebration with each Nation offering to the rest it's own unique message.

Can you not see the beginnings of something in this. If there is only one God who created all then must it not be true that he will express himself in many diverse ways via the many cultures on this planet. Can we not see the inklings of a vision for the future when the world is united in a spiritual conception of a single humanity, with each saying to the others in the language of it's own culture:

"Hail thee Brothers!".

If the Spirit of Peace was not upon the Earth on this day then I will eat my keyboard. There was such an overwhelming aura of Peace and brotherhood and friendliness everywhere and for a brief period we suspended our preoccupation with bad news and turned our attention to "The Good, the Beautiful and the True." Christ did walk amongst men that day. He was everywhere in the hearts of all men. We may not see His body yet, but His Spirit was everywhere!

It is time to stop giving the microphone and platform to those with a limited and negative conception of the future. This is our generation and our world to shape and mold, and I for one will no longer stand idly by and listen to these idiots dupe the poor and unthinking masses with their retarded and dark vision. I am setting forth to create a positive vision of a New Civilization and Culture. I hope you will join me in this, for: "Where there is no vision, the people perish" but I would re-write this to say: "Where there is no Positive vision, the people perish." And why can we not create one?! Every business man knows that to successfully build something you must first have a clear conception of it, then execute the plan for it's building. So let us create the clear positive vision, as a first step to the building of a New Civilization and Culture!

Hearty Good Wishes!

Cliff Ribaudo

Good grief, it sounds as if this guy wants to start a New Age religious cult!!!

Oh Noooo! Not This! This is the ultimate happy-face vision of the future...and all because us doomers were wrong. If I had only known!

Is this guy Clifford Ribaudo?

First, down on your knees! To ask for guidance. "This is a new age and belongs to our generation. It is ours to shape and mold. It is up to us to construct a new and positive vision for our world." Last, "down on your knees!".

Good night. What sort of 'feel good' stuff is this person smoking?

Hell-OOOO. I agree that the illusion of peace, togetherness, racial and spiritual harmony was very inspiring.........and then we all got up the next morning and the 32 various wars were still being battled, children were still starving and species were still dying.

"It is ours to shape and mold"???? That's EXACTLY why it's all so screwed up and I could whittle and sculpt myself into a frenzy and it wouldn't matter because *we* aren't in charge.

I couldn't help but think, while watching the 'production', that we are mere steps away from world government. It just made me want to run outside blowing my tooter. ~shudder~

Oh Cherri, I must say that it seems you have been attending the "cut and paste" class that Y2K Pro is teaching. I guess the reply you were writing for Cory will never be seen now. Not like we believed you in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- (BillyBlaze@nightshift.com), January 03, 2000.

Oh But I believe you Mistress Cherri.

I believe that you are trying to feed us another line. Of what? I won't speculate in a publice forum.

But when I view your "choke" informative posting a second time. I realized that you are only "shooting from the hip" again. And as usual, you are puzzled as to why no one heaps acolades of praise upon your fevered brow.

Your stated years of IT service place you in the "flower child" generation, dear lady. So please remember an old, but apt saying "Chill out" dear Lady. You didn't change the world then; and you most certainly won't now.

Chuckle...I bet you never inhaled either, did you?

Cherri, I have enjoyed your views regarding y2k, but you stray from the target here. In one regard, the author speaks about Christ and in quite another, makes the odd connection of new age, new vision, human spirit and new civilization. In some odd way, the author feels mankind can enact all of these things while drawing a faulty correlation to Christ. He'd be wise to read Revelations...and quickly.

I can almost hear 'We Are the World' playing in the background.

Had this posting not had Christ's name in it, I probably would have chosen not to respond. I consider the letter a misrepresentation. People are 'of' Christ. There will never be a single conception of humanity here on earth without Christ's return.

The New World Order direction the author alludes to will not usher in the Son of God, but instead, under the guise of goodness, oneness, harmony and peace---will usher in evil.

Some will be fooled by the deceit of the day...perhaps the author and maybe even YOU, Cherri, will become mesmerized by the 'spirituality' of it all. Yet only Christ ahs the power to unite, and the power to quell the evil which lies in many men's hearts.

This is dangerous new age reconstructionism, at its finest.

Cherri,

You ran the same post on Debunkers and got no response. Here on Timebombers you got no respect. Curious, which did you prefer?

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), January 03, 2000.

Hey, we thought that in the 60s and look how totally we screwed things up. Youve got to be kidding, were leaving all the darkness behind?

You need to refill the toner in a better ventilated work space...

Cherri, there is nothing new about the New Age dogma. This claptrap has been taught for milleneum and is directly responsible for a huge portion of the world's ills.

"This day, predicted by many to be the end, was in fact a beginning of the New Age. An age which leaves behind the past, dark and war ridden Millennium. One characterized by the dark and limited conceptions of the Christian view of "End Times" and Armageddon etc."

Yeah, right. With a magic wave of the golden dawn wand, we have entered into an era of peace, love, harmony and brotherly love. Bullshit. The world is the same, dangerous place it ever was and in fact will undoubtedly get much worse. The date has nothing to do with the great evil in mankind, except perhaps give men more time to consider how they can wax worse and worse.

"If the Spirit of Peace was not upon the Earth on this day then I will eat my keyboard. We may not see His body yet, but His Spirit was everywhere!"

More utter BULLSHIT. Chechnya got the shit bombed out it, all in the name of your "Spirit of Peace" on your Golden Day. "We love ya, you Commie brothers, that's why we got to kill ya. and your wives, sons and daughters".

Wars are now raging all over the world, is this the brotherly love you speak of? Thousands are dying each and every day, I don't recall anybody taking any time out for your Golden Dawn karma bullshit.

How do you like your keyboard, hot or cold? Some Dijon mustard might make it a bit more palatable.

I can't stand these spiritual orgasms completely grounded in utter fantasy. It's pure claptrap and bullshit. You are overdue for a serious reality check. Wishful thinking by a "postive vision" won't make shit happen.

Your message is not welcome here, go back to hugging a tree or eating dirt or whatever you do to celebrate your "humanity".

-- Truth (revelations16@hotmail.com), January 03, 2000.

I like Putin better myself:

Regarding Chechnya: "We are going to kill these terrorists and if we have to we'll find them in the outhouses, kill them and then piss on them."

Good luck with your tree hugging and dirt eating.

Cherrie, my vision is somewhat more jaded than yours. 1. the world is sure to experience wars----As long as the huge gap remains between yuppies and crystalbangers such as yourself and the rest of this poor starving world. 2.Multinationals will continue to rape and pilliage the environment to extract the resource at the expense of the poor and the downtrodden. 3. We have NO hope in transforming political systems until we separate the multinationals from any influence of a political nature( as we have done with the rigid separation of church and state. 4. We must prevent corporations and individuals from buying and suppressing new break through inventions to insure that old fossil fuels dependancy continue to the detriment of health and progress.5. We must investigate and root out government corruption and punish white collar crime at least as severly as we would a bread robber at the local 7/11 (in the words of Woodie Guthrie, oh thru this world I've traveled ,I seen lots of funny men ,some rob you with a six gun ,some with a fountain pen!). I'm sure that forum members could add to this manifesto------6.The illegally funded black government must be reigned in and exposed----An Agency hack once told me it's main business of certin agencies to destablize foreign governments for profit!( why has Noreiga never even had one press interview? what high level politicos would scurry back into the darkness if he were to speak?Conspiracies,aw thats just crazy talk. And cherrie when you grow up and visit the third world as I've done and had a few starving children die in your arms I gar-un-tee you'd have a very different world view---NO FUTURE WITHOUT MASSIVE REFORMS---Get thee a new issue and work for the betterment of mankind, the environment, and all living beings--the screen and latte's are a poor substitute for the work at hand! Ps, It is the ignorance of youth to project their philosophies on the world but talk comes cheap until you walk the walk you'll just be another nerd taking up valuable space.
