Doomer vs Polly

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I don't get why the "pollies" hang around here and why they seem to care so much about what is being presented on this forum. Don't they have better things to do?

I have always been one who wants to hear decent opinions but usually I have found that the "pollies" are incredibly emotional. I used to go over to the debunkers forum just to keep balanced and to try to make sure that I was seeing all sides. What I found there was so emotionally charged and vicious, that it was ridiculous. I know there have been some rotten things said here as listed by various visitors. But I have found that the rotten things said here seem to be very occasional compared to the rotteness I read on the debunker forum.

Maybe one in ten posts here (if that) was derogatory. Maybe one in ten over there wasn't derogatory. Sure when you go back and gather all of them together it looks pretty bad but the percentage of rotteness was very small on this forum.

Why do you guys feel like you need to stay around?? Why are you so obsessed with us? I always love to see something of value and insight but not all the stupid crap you come up with. Just stay over there and complain about how stupid everyone is over here. If you have something of value to say fine, I for one would love to hear it. Otherwise go home, don't waste our time with your ridicule.

I think that they just want to "enlighten" us with their wisdom and logic... However, they should take their "don't prepare" message to the survivors of recent hurricanes and, of course, to France after the recent storms. I'm sure that those folks will be suitably receptive.

Scratch a polly, and I'll bet you will find a Bolshevik..er excuse me a liberal, and God knows how they hate independent thinking apart from the collective.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... another post about how foolish the "Pollies" are.

Considering that we were right, this post sure looks stupid.
