By now, the end of the first (and perfectly normal) working day after rollover, it seems time for a change of terminology around here. For "polly" we need to substitute "realist", and for "doomer" we need to substitute "dummy".

I've become more optimistic over the last year, as problems didn't happen and things clarified. I'm glad things didn't turn out as badly as I originally feared. But it's too late for panic now, I think. I was talking about anticipatory panic in any case. If things go south starting today, that's another story. But I believe we've already lived through the worst.
