You've got to wonder why, with Y2k being a "non-event" which is "over", these trolls such as Y2k Pro still continue to spam the forum.

By now, the end of the first (and perfectly normal) working day after rollover, it seems time for a change of terminology around here. For "polly" we need to substitute "realist", and for "doomer" we need to substitute "dummy".

Nonetheless, I believe the dummy posts should still be permitted, they're more of a laff riot all the time.

Hooray to the sysops and to polkaman! Ya vol!

-- Pearlie Sweetcake (storestuff@home.now), January 03, 2000.

Oops. That should have been jawohl.

-- Pearlie Sweetcake (storestuff@home.now), January 03, 2000.

thank you!!!! i just don't understand why the pollies don't go. this board is so critical in permitting the aggregation of report of y2k errors. it is when you see them en masse, that you realize what a "snow job" the media is doing.

Are you seriously arguing that the only way to see the entire forest is to press your nose up against the only dead tree you can find? Or is this the only place where you can find what you so desperately want to hear?

Can't you understand that what you are recommending is *exactly* what caused you to get it so wrong in the first place? Why do you persist?

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), January 03, 2000.

Flint, maybe if you pressed *your* nose up _______ ________ ______ a little higher ________ _______ _________ more, more

So, Flint, you DUMMY...when you gonna sell your food stockpile and put your money back in the bank?

-- Answer the question (?@?.?), January 03, 2000.

Dear Flint,

the first "Normal" business day won't be complete until the banks settle over night.

Just for the record.

Hey. No run down horse pucky! It's good for growing mushrooms!

-- Mad Monk (madmonk@hawaiian.net), January 03, 2000.

This was Flint's prediction about a year ago........

hope the boy was wrong

Important passage: "I expect the US government to keep the lid on panic and bank runs barring a triggering spate of celebrity failures that can't be spun away."

Here's hoping for no 'celebrity' failures.

Vaya con dios.

Answer:

I'm eating my stockpile now, and my money is already back in the bank.

Chuck:

Aren't banks around the world ending their day already?

lisa:

I've become more optimistic over the last year, as problems didn't happen and things clarified. I'm glad things didn't turn out as badly as I originally feared. But it's too late for panic now, I think. I was talking about anticipatory panic in any case. If things go south starting today, that's another story. But I believe we've already lived through the worst.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), January 03, 2000.

Flint, Flint, Flint

I've seen you aggravate, agitate, ameliorate, equivocate, edificate, illuminate, dilate and investigate, obfuscate, pontificate, and downright perplex.

But I've never seen you disappoint. Please don't start now in the headiness of the moment.

-- (resolved@this.point), January 03, 2000.

Damn, I hate when that happens. My last post crossed yours, Flint, and I want to make clear that mine referred to your initial post on this thread about "doomers = dummies." NOT your second post.

Online sux. [grin]

These are the good times. The worst is yet to come!

-- dinosaur (dinosaur@williams-net.com), January 03, 2000.

Pray tell. What is it like to get up every morning with an attitude like that? The worst is yet to come???????????? Oy vey!!!

Dearest LL, I think you should put your theory to the test.
