OT "Your tax return due by April 17"?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I got my Tele-Tax form in the mail today, and in several places it lists the due date as April 17. When did they change the date? When did I miss this?

April 15, 2000, falls on a Saturday. The next business day is Monday the 17th. IRS due dates are set on business days, not weekends.

April 15 is a Saturday, so it is due the first business day after April 15, which is April 17.

Typical doomer... always assuming every little thing is a Y2K glitch, or some type of conspiracy. Yeah Yeah, I know you didn't say it was Y2K or a conspiracy...bla bla bla.

Before you file or pay quarterly or subject yourself to withholding, see if YOU really are REQUIRED to pay "income tax".

I have filed by the required dead line date of April 15, for 20 years, the date was never changed because of a weekend or whatever. Don't think the 17 date means much other than two days of reprieve.
