Date glitch in Winfax Lite

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

I have a free version of Winfax Lite (version 3.0). I tried to fax something this morning (01/03/00). Winfax Lite held the document in the "rechedule" queue with a bogus date (01/93/28). When I went to set the reschedule date I could not set it for the year 2000. This software will not let you schedule any dates from 01/01/00 thru 12/31/09. I was able to fax by rescheduling the fax for a 1999 date. Since the date was in the past, the rescheduler recognized that the document needed to be sent.

I went out to the web to try to find a fix, but this product is now obsolete. However, the fix above should work for now.

"I noticed on my computer the following for fax software's : On WinFax A send is fine but on the re-send if the fax failed the first time the new date will run to 2028. Meaning the re-send date for the WinFax to resend the document will be programmed to send on year 2028. On Bitware A send is fine again but on the re-send if the fax failed the first time the date will run to 1900. Meaning the re-send date for the Bitware to resend the document will be programmed to send on year 1900. Just like every office a complete Y2K scan and review was done. But the program for resending of document is not a surface program but within built program. This I believe to be the course why the Y2K scan and clean program did not pick it up..
