NY Spot Gold - no trading or no reporting?greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
http://www.kitco.com/gold.graph.html reports a flat NY Gold market today. Is the market closed or is there a reporting problem somewhere?

I believe this closing was unscheduled, now they are saying the market will open at 5:00pm EST? http://www.kitco.com/gold.l ive.html I hope they can arrange to flood the market again and get that price down from $11,500/oz.!

"I believe this closing was unscheduled, now they are saying the market will open at 5:00pm EST?"This closing was scheduled - I learned of it early last week. And Comex is open for overnight trading every Sunday-Thursday (except holidays, like last night).

I don't follow these things much -- do gold markets close routinely on certain days? Is this completely normal? Thanks in advance.

Read the notice above the chart. Kitco has said for a week or more the schedule of the markets, including NY & London will be closed 2000-01-03. Sheesh!
