Any news from 1/3/00 in the world?

The Hong Kong market will open in a few hours, but many businesses (such as Australia) have already opened. Are there any failures being reported?

Market problems, if they occur, I would think should be very easily seen and reported.

However, any business disruptions that don't affect the consumer directly wont be reported for some time, if ever.

Remember, there is a strategy that exists to downplay disruptions and misdirect the reasons. This strategy has been eluded to by both our government and military and elsewhere around the globe.

I really don't expect much news for awhile.

As it is a public holiday in Australia (and I think N.Z.) tomorrow (the 4th) is the "crunch" day for us down under.

It IS a regular public holiday, not an induced one, as some countries have put in place, but I'll bet my bottom dollar the computer guys have not had much sleep in the last couple of days, and are making the most of the time available.

Very good, scarletbreasted, did not know about the holiday. Wish we had one here in the states, supposed to be in the 60's here in Ohio tomorrow (that won't last long). Right now, just waiting for the Asian markets to open.

Still can't reach my friend in Japan via email. I think they have a squirrel problem there. Bummer.
