SMILE, doomers!

FWIW, I just heard Harry Shear, (Le'Show) report that the DOD admitted that they lied, having said that everything went smoothly at the rollover, and that ACTUALLY, they had a big problem at midnight GMT causing one of their satellite systems to fail.

I wish I would have been paying a little bit better attention (I was only half listening, the other half concentrating on planning the trip to Latin America we postponed until after y2k. All our friends who are (or were) down there are reporting everything normal, and wishing we'd gone with them, as asked, and so forth.

Anyone else heard about this?

Also, has there been some strange glitch happen to this forum? When I type a letter here, the last letter I type doesn't appear if I'm typing rapidly. Then I look at what I've typed, think I've left off a letter, type it in, and there are two of them.

Weird. I'm heading for the hills. No, wait' I already am in the hills.

Happy 0 everyone.

Now given the function of the failed system as released, IMHO kepping it hush till they were sure it was running again would have been in the best interest of national security. What worries me is chem/nuclear accidents which are not released because they fear public panic more than for example a town dying of cancer.

I agree with you, hokie, but hey--what about the problem I'm having with my typing on TB2000?
