Just heard about a Fed Security System Failure...greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
It was reported on my local radio station, WBTV in Charlotte. Says a security system put in place for the year 2000 has failed and security being handled manually, whatever that means. Can anyone confirm? I'm looking but have found nothing yet...

"I'm looking but have found nothing yet." Are you sure that wasn't a CAT scan you were looking at?

Hi Roland, Ignore the previous reply. I am going to check and see what I can find about this and maybe a link from somewhere. Thanks for the info. Linn

Think this must be it. From the www.y2k.gov website:1/1/00 ATF reports that a security system in a field office is not functioning. This system had recently been installed as a compliant solution after an IV&V audit revealed the previous system was not compliant.
Repairs are in process and there are guards at the field office providing physical security.

Looks like a y2k has created overtime for some hard working security guards. Cash in pocket :).Y2K = money in the bank.
