Late December...we are at a 2, headed towards a 3...and then...on January 1, 2000...the UNTHINKABLE!!!!

The iceberg turned out to be an ice cube.

Well doomers, we were all surprised. Admit it. Learn from it. Deal with it. Get over it.

This has been a learning experience. What did I learn?

1) Government doesn't always lie.

2) Those who accused the government of lying about Y2K should go look in a mirror. I did.

3) A person can think they are 100% correct and be 100% incorrect.

4) Some people won't accept being incorrect. This is worse than what you were incorrect about in the first place.

5) Looks like 300-600 BILLION DOLLARS can fix a lot of computer problems.

6) Trust, but verify...both sides of the argument.

7) Learning new skills and making new contacts are never a waste of time.

8) Eating rice gets old, fast.

9) People are easily manipulated until they feel threatened.

10) People who feel threatened can rationalize their irrational behavior, influencing the indecisive to act as irrational as they do.

I could go on but life is calling...so in conclusion I'll leave this place with this thought:

When life throws lemons your way, make lemonade.

Cheers!

8-)

P.S.

John Koskinen, you did a great job. My family and I thank you sincerely. The US owes you a debt of gratitude. May the future bring peace and harmony to you and your family.

You forgot one....Pollies are Idiots

When y2k wackos can't bring themselves to accept how stupid they were, they trot out the old "Just wait until next week when the (fill in the blank) start to fail ..." garbage. Keep it up wackos, the rest of us can still get alot of good laughs out of you.

The best part is, even the third world countries who didn't do squat to prepare for the dreaded y2k bug don't have any problems (at least, they don't have problems they didn't already have - hunger, disease, poverty, etc. - but none of those rank up there with y2k for importance)

strange how even those who didn't remediate had NO problems?

surely that means Koskinen and all the sponges didn't NEED to fix anything, they are not heroes they are liars...

Hey, Hey, HEY!
"8) Eating rice gets old, fast..."
Being part Asian, I have eaten rice 2 and 3 times a day, all of my life...you can send all your rice to me if you want...lol

Goldreal,

You are a traitor to our cause. Go to Debunker's Board, do not pass GO, do not collect 200 MREs.
