"Will you sell your AR -15?"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Dinner conversation this evening:

Sister-in-law asks, "Larry (her weight-lifting coach) wants to know if you'll sell your AR-15 since nothing happened." Quizzical look from me. "I told him about your preparations". Glare from me.

The saving grace "since nothing happened" is that I don't have to be immediately concerned about feeding her (she eats a LOT) and her nude stripper girlfriend (OTOH, the sister-in-law can handle a Remington 870, and the girlfriend knows the neighbors from her work...)

What's an AR-15? I'll assume they're not Internet mutual funds.

AR-15: "the most reliable firearm available on the world market"

http://www.prairienet.org/guns/arms/ar15.htm

As for Internet Mutual funds: I don't need them (I don't do Pokemon or Beanie Babies either).

Neato. I bet I can get one really cheap here on this forum now.

Go ahead and give your name and address for the FBI background check.

Note to self: have maid pick up AR-15 during next grocery trip.

LOL! Don't forget 1000 rounds and the pre-ban magazine.

Thanks, I'll tell her. I never would have remembered.

Anyone who believes that POS AR-15 firing the anemic (read "mouse caliber") .223 round is "the most reliable rifle on the world market" OBVIOUSLY doesn't know anything about battlefield small arms, ESPECIALLY the M-16/AR-15 rifle.

Except for the over-valued price tag, an AR-15 is in the same league as a High Point carbine.

Nick-

As I ROTFLMAO reading this thread, I wondered which was funnier, the part about the AR-15 being reliable, or the part about the sister-in-law with the "nude stripper girlfriend".

And BTW, is she nude all the time?

Gimme a break....AR-15 is probably the LEAST reliable fire arm ever made....

If anyone is dumb enough to sell their AR-15, I'll buy it, as long as I can test fire it first. Makes for a dynamite home defense gun if you set it up right (short 16" barrel, Surefire 225 lumen light, 3-rd mags with SP ammo)...

It does not deserve the honor of the most reliable firearm (that probably belongs to the AK/SKS family), but mine do alright.

I've already got 2, and could always use a couple more if the price is right... :)

Gawd!! Does your sister-in-law and/or her nude stripper girlfriend like to mudwrestle????

-- King of Spain (madrid@aol.cum), January 02, 2000.

y2k was nothing more than an impetus to buy guns I've wanted for quite a while.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), January 09, 2000.

I plan to give away my AR-15.

One round at a time.
