the y2k disaster is over, the y2k depression may yet arrive...

Gold is cheap. Mid 1970's cheap. Stocks are WAY expensive. (though maybe not all of them) The US Dollar is WAY too strong. Uncle Greenspan is WAY to easy with our money.

What are you going to do with all that y2k cash? Buy YAHOO at 500+ times earnings?

Your social security savings are all .gov IOU's, maybe you should diversify into something more solid.

A couple of 1 oz coins wont set you back too much. They take up less room than beans. No balance sheets to figure out, no funny futures markets to figure out, no foreign country risk, plain old ordinary gold. Just sits there. No real estate taxes, Cheap at $290... Expensive at $29,000.
