What's going on at the gas pump?

Huummmm....

Yesterday, 87 octane gas here in Ventura was $1.29 at the cheapest place in town... did a beer run a few minutes ago, shot up to $1.35 overnight...

Anyone else noticing a surge in gas prices?

Oil prices have been climbing worldwide for quite a while now. Check oil futures...even higher pump prices ahead.

Prices are up here in Chicago as well. Also Fed Ex and UPS announced a rate increase on CNN to begin Monday(their biggest cost is fuel). Crude's futures are retesting a 20 year high reached back in Jan '97 - - 31.27. But this can be attributed to secular forces.

I'm interested in knowing if there are likely to be productivity impeding problems with the industry.

Thanks,

Maybe I am too dumb to pour piss out of a boot, but unless it was all a lie or idle speculation, Venezula hadn't done a thing toward making itself ready for any computer problems, especially in the area of it's oil production.

On top of that the poor country has just suffered devistating floods, which can't help but have an effect on it's overall infrastructure.

Considering (from what I've read) that what with one thing and another their oil production is severely curtailed, what can/will that do to us?

As I see it, it will be less oil and at a higher price. Right? Or, should I go and figure how to get the piss out of the boot?
