greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Everytime someone post a new thread they are subject to abuse and derogatory remarks,Sysops can you please go back over the recent posts as trolls are posting flames on most threads.. thanks

Answers

Agreed. All pollys should be deleted on sight. Nobody wants to read their worthless drivel.

No.

All "pollys" will not be deleted on sight. However, abusers, disruptors and trolls will be.

It helps if posters can flag us with the problem thread... if it's not obvious from the top level. We can't read everything.

Thanks,

Diane

Why should pollies be deleted? You've heaped a hell of a lot more abuse on pollies than they have ever heaped on you. Quit yer whinin! People on this forum can dish it out, but they sure can't take it.

If you don't like it here, gilda, you should go back to debunkers where you belong.

Brett demonstrates the kind of attitude I really hate, as if anyone really "belonged" anywhere on the internet. I mean, it's all just digital display on our monitors, and all of a sudden people like brett have to segregate everything. And then before you know someone else comes along and says they need to delete opposing viewpoints because they are counterproductive to the conversation. And then soon after you make a list of people that are specifically not allowed to say anything on the forum.

I'm sorry, the whole process strikes me as anti-evolutionary, neanderthal, and just plain mean spirited. What can we ever learn of each other if we always resort to ignoring the larger issue. Where can we ever hope to take humanity if we routinely pattern our lives in little sects and congregations that does not allow for an open embrace of the broader horizon?

Sounds like it really bothers you. Guess what, WE DON'T CARE.

Go make your own forum if it upsets you so.

Nice to see that you've decided to speak for everyone.

And for your information "we" have started many forums, all of which you're welcome to come and speak your mind on. Non censored forums where everyone has a chance to be seen and heard. But I guess that concept is as alien to you as moonrocks.

This board is intended for those of us who felt there could be problems associated with the turnover. Some of us feel there still could be some. We can still help each other. Acknowledging in any way the posts of the low-lifes who chose to act like 3rd graders is a waste of our time. They have a right to their opinion but we don't have to listen to it. They feed off of our disgust of them so as far as I'm concerned any remarks they say are nonexistent and not worthy of the time it takes us to respond. If we treat them like a blank wall they will get bored & go away. They are the kind of people who would HA HA someone who prepared for but lucked out & avoided a hurricane or flood. We teach our children to be kind to others and these low-lifes had parents who were failures in that department.

Hey, I'm one of those "who felt there could be problems associated with the turnover." I prepared, and I'm glad I did. I wish I were more of a polly, but my nature has always been more pessimistic--you know, "anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Having said that, I do not think pollies should be deleted. The last I heard this was the interenet and we're still allowed to exercise free speech. And I don't think all pollies are low-lifes either.
