GICC Analysis - time clock problem reportedgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread |
A thread on Timebomb 2000 describes a payroll timeclock that will not accept a correct date for the Year 2000. I contacted the poster and he assures me that this is a real problem. This company can go to manual with its 15 employees, but this could prove to be a major inconvenience for a larger company. I think this is the type of problem we will see striking small companies who never go the word about Y2K.
Some time ago, I posted an essay written by Ray Strackbein that described a similar problem that happened to someone he knows personally, so we have reason for concern.
