My wife just called at 1:00 EST, and said all the credit and debit card machines in the grocery store where she works are down. This happens once in a while and usually doesn't mean a thing, but when it happened at noon today, the bank next door also went down. An earlier thread said about Bell of Pa. having trouble and I just noticed one on slot machines. Ironic, the state that 1st claimed y2k compliance is the first to be reported as having trouble.

From the other side, here at our Credit Union (in Pa.) we are processing transactions just fine, using EDS, MAC and VISA... debit, ATM and credit cards....

Slot machines in trouble were in Delaware...

I noted that while the gasoline pumps at Getty stations in SC PA state are working, in the 2 stores I visited today, neither has a working lotto terminal. Seems that they aren't working, and won't be up til monday, when the Lotto people can come in and look at them.

Don't know for sure if it's Y2k related, or some other more mundane glitch, but there you have it.

And NO, I don't play the Lotto, but merely noted it.
