Y2K Bug Hits Silicon Valley?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

It's 9:00AM Saturday here in Silicon Valley. I went to work to catch up on some email (and do a bit of websurfing on the 2000 news).

But I couldn't get into the building. My security card wasn't recognized. This has never happened before.

The security guard said the system failed at midnight last night. A call is in to the vendor.

Y2K failure? Certainly looks like it. I think we'll see more of these glitches as people go back to work. Lots of minor problems. Might be interesting.

Diane,

The power thing may have been assoicated with the transformer/plant problem they had and rerouted. just a thought.

Anyone know if the card is working yet that wouldn't swipe.
