Bell of Pa problems MAY be starting ??????greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I called Maw and Paw this morning to wish them a happy new year. Got a busy signal for about 25 mins. When Maw answered the phone I ask her who she was BS'ing with. She said she hadn't been on the phone at all yet today. This was a busy signal, not an ALL CIRCUTS ARE BUSY message. They have a private line! It would not be busy if they were not on it. Time will tell......................................

'Scotty', haven't you ever been on the phone with a loved one on New Year's or Xmas before? This is just more doom drivel. I think I liked your 'flame away' moniker more than this. I live in the same area as you, and yet, it seems apparent to me that for the past few months...and today, as well...you live on some Fantasy Island.

Looks like Y2K Pro is still an arrogant asshole. He will never change.

Just reporting a FACT guys. Pro, I have never in the 29 years I have lived away from home got a (READ THE WORDS) B U S Y tone unless they WERE on the phone! Yes I have got "all circs are busy"

Great job, Scotty. You've uncovered a new problem. Of course, it will fade away in a few days. More allegations without substantiation. Just ask Diane *Sigher*. She's the master.

Scotty,
The phone system in your folks' community may have been designed to support only a portion of its lines being in use at a given time. If so, and if that threshold had already been reached when you tried to call them, a normal busy signal might actually have been appropriate. Your folks might be advised to contact their local carrier about this.
