Yes...I saw the Seattle fireworks on the Portland station. It looked like it went real well. A lot of Seattle people came down to Portland for the festivities. It seems Portland has has about 40,000 people, more than the 10,000 - 15,000 expected. No problems. I just turned my computer back on at 12:15 am Jan. 1, 2000. Rolled over like a charm. No probs here. Happy New Year all.

The fireworks were still planned, though they closed it off to all the thousands that were supposed to come.

Yes, I saw it while out partying with a friend. It went along great! Here in Seattle like it seems in about everywhere else, the lights are on, the water works, the computer is fine, and all is well. Thank the Creator that all is well and that the Y2K has NOT bit. It has been such a good day seeing all of us humanity coming together in unity and peace celebrating this special day! Seeing all of this gives me real hope for the future. Happy New Year!

Fireworks went off at the Needle as scheduled. Very short - 5 minutes or so. NBC channel 5 went from Needle to Bill Gates estate in Medina where he put on a fireworks show that was better than the cities. Had to cancel his light/laser show because they were using fog to display ait and even Bill Gates couldn't control the wind.

Poor broadcasters were covering Tacoma and Anacortes and even showed Sedro Wooly at one point. Talk about running out of things to do or say! It was, in reality, pathetic. I don't think Schell will be reelected - what a wuss. If he is, I'm moving not just outta the county - I'm moving outta the state.
