Will Pay Decent Money for Unabomber shacks, generators and MRE's

So, boys and girls, it's nearly 1AM on Jan 1, 2000, and the world is still here... know what? Bunkered or not, your employers WILL expect you to work next Monday or Tuesday. So, are you now stuck with a low rent shelter of questionable value? With the power grid still up, is that generator dripping diesel looking less appealing? Does a Big Mac sound better than an MRE? Well, drop me a line via EMAIL, and let's see what kind of deal we can cook up! After all, who wants to be stuck with remnants of a passe, goofy scare to embarrass you in front of your friends? NOTE: this offer does NOT extend to old copies of 'Time Bomb 2000', which are usable only as confetti. Offer void where prohibited by your sanity.

I can't get a divergent opinion in here without it being deleted, so I'll try to stick it in here. It's unbelievable. The doomers don't want to hear that one of their fearless emperors has not a stitch of clothes on: Ed Yourdon (scary mental picture, that!) He has gotten just about everything wrong in his lectures, books, and other printed material PLUS his bogus website. Yet we listened to he and his kind all this time. Doesn't make sense. Make your voice known and write directly to Ed and tell him where to go.

Ed gave us a logarithmic range of possibilities, ranging from 30 days to ten years, spanning several orders of magnitude. He helped avert a potential catastrophe. He didn't create the Y2K problem, he was just one of hundreds of 1000s who tried to help fix it. Don't shoot the messenger. This drama is by no means fully played out. From everything I read of Ed's book, essays and posts, he was always the voice of moderation, insight and sanity. I do look forward to his first post-rollover commentary but he deserves much more than the above post.

I have nothing but thanks for people like Ed to clearly and loudly sounded the warning in time for something to be done about it. Thank you Ed

Excuse me, Ed a voice of reason - what a joke. He wrote a book giving a vivid and detailed explanation of what would happen to Telecomm, Power, System On Chip, etc. on Y2K without the benefit of a Electrical Engineering Degree nor experience in said fields. Hell, he did not even take the time or effort to consult the IEEE's Societies (i.e., Telecomm, Power et al) to obtain a "REAL ENGINEER'S" perspective or knowledge. He was out to make a buck and did not want to deal much with informed and dissenting opinions as evidenced by his weak reply to Dick Mill's critique of TB 2000. Regards,

Even yesterday John Koskinen, in his press conference, stated that we are not all clear yet. If we were, I doubt that the government would continue to spend all the money necessary to maintain their command center(through the end of January, at least). With 10's of thousands of businesses that are yet to "fire-up" their computer(s) after the rollover, there seems to be some questions yet as to what will happen. Celebration of total victory is a little early. Personally, I will continue to hang on to all preps for now, and into the future. I am glad I learned all that I did about preparation and self-sufficiency through Y2K and these are not temporary lessons, but lifetime lessons. Dependence on self (and not on others)is a gift that I have received that I am grateful for. Thanks to all who have alerted me and other Americans to these benefits.
