Not to assume it may work in a.m., just interesting. It is 12.55a.m. here

I've been sent several different fix-it's, been chatised for not updating my puter, but I decided to wait and see. If I post here tomorrow then I'm AOK without any patches what so ever....

Hate to be a party pooper, but:

Please keep in mind that Y2k problems may not become evident until some time has passed after the original error occurs. Many computer operations use data that was previously collected or stored -- if a Y2k problem is causing errors in such data, the problem may not be noticeable until later.

I hope everyone has made as complete a backup of his/her system as would be needed to make a complete restoration in case a problem is discovered later. If anyone hasn't, do it ASAP.

If your system needs a Y2k patch or update, that need will not evaporate just because there's no noticeable problem today or tomorrow.

... speaking from 35 years of experience ...

Bah humbug. I refused to bother with patching anything. I've never relied on my computer and was quite comfortable with the "risk". I took serious steps in my important preps, which seem to be equally unnecessary now. But at least those steps won't be a total waste of time and money, whereas computer patching has always sounded like a pain in the butt.
