Three minutes to "Magic Midnight."

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just posted this same message at one of the other forums. I thought it might be worth repeating here.

Here goes:

I've been off-line all day. Just ushered treasured family friends out the door. Just a quickie here.

Gotta go kiss my family.

Blessings to all of you.

As always,

Peace.

Well, it's now 21 minutes after "Magic Midnight" in the Eastern time zone of the United States of America and my electricity is up and running, and this is the best New Year's Eve I've ever experienced.

PLUS--my computer is working, and thusfar, I haven't been "virused."

I feel blessed.

How about you?

:)

One hour and five minutes to go in Silicon Valley.

Won't a hot shower in the morning be lovely?

Counting blessings.

Oh, Diane,

Nice to see you checking in on this thread right before I head off to bed 'cause I just can't keep my eyes open any more.

Hot showers are indeed one of life's simple pleasures, and yes--I look forward to taking one tomorrow when I awaken.

But you know what? Thanks to what I have learned from many people I met through this forum, my family will ALWAYS have an ability to take a hot shower, in most any type of emergency situation.

I am a mother of a young child. I will do everything I can, to protect her.

Ah, but I ramble.

However, I bought "Old Git" a fruitcake two days ago. I'm waiting for it to get really, REALLY stale before I mail it to her.

Would anyone on this forum be willing to alert her to this impending shipment? If so, please tell her to email me. (This is going to be fun.)

:)
