Here is the scoop, maybe true at your place. My town tee vee has down played any Y2K events such as laughter about planes, very little mention except to spoof, for months. Saw the same thing on Dan Rather. So I go along, buying my meager supplies, being made fun of. I did it anyway, I have small Grandchildren. Then today, out of the blue, while CNN carries all the roll overs, SUDDENLY!! They start all the HOOP-LA about Y2K was defeated since no problems! My own local news bas been blattering on for over two hours about how situation has been mastered because of all the hard work. Y2K has Never received this much coverage for the past year!! If it was such a non-event, how come they are spending this much air time on it?? I Never saw any shortages to speak of, not even today in the grocery and the Walmart. Well I am here to tell you, and these are stories for other times, we, the public have been lied to, more than once. Another burr turned sideways. You who are second thinking your decisions, and fear ridicule from co-workers and relatives. First: Re-find the grit that gave you the courage and stamina to make your preparations. Second: Do your searches before Monday on all the money the Federal Government , your city, other countries have spent on Y2Y, memorize those figures. So on Mon., if someone slyly mocks your preparations, just act amazed and say, "Gosh, I was silly to buy 20 cans of Dak hams, 30 cans of tuna and 43 pounds of rice, I spent $200.00!!, I would really hate to think of how foolish the Fed. must feel to have spent _ and my state to have spent _. And how about all those Command Centers, must cost billions, of course, you know all of us paid for that". Tax dollars at work. Stupid local media is still spilling tripe! Gurrrrrrah!

Strange that because by my watch we have 3 hours to go in the USA.

And I am cutting over my system in 3 hours.

I wouldn't feel bad about being prepared...you buy house insurence, not because you know your house will burn down, but in case it does burn down. Now if someone quit their job and moved their family to the hills, that person might be feeling stupid right now, but it is still too early to tell. We'll see.

When we go back to work Monday, everyone's main conceren will be whether their office p.c.'s work properly.

I have NO idea if mine will or not.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that people have more on their minds than making fun of my preps. We'll see.
