A message from the Native American Nations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

First, I would like to say thank you to ABC for the wonderful coverage of Native American celebrations of the CDC. I do not know if anyone from ABC is monitoring this forum, but if you are, please relay my thanks to the producers.

To all members of the TB2000 forum:

I am honored to pass on the message attached below from a tribal elder of the Northern Arapahoe Nation.

Finally, to my family and friends here - on behalf of my Nation, my adopted Arapahoe family here in WY, and all of the Native American Nations and Tribes, I would like to wish each of you a Happy and Prosperous New Year! May all of you know Peace, Love, and Joy.

Greetings to all my relations:

It is an honor to have received much information gathered by so many of you, and shared with us by our brother, ThunderLight. Our tribe has been greatly enriched by this sharing. On behalf of my people, thank you for the love you share by helping each other and us. It is gift that can not be repaid, only shared again by passing on.

May each of you, your families, your friends, and all whom you touch in this life be greatly blessed and strengthened as we move into this new year. May Creator continue to shine his light and love upon all. May your prayers, like ours, be with all who walk this earth!

From our family's and homes to yours, wishes for a Happy New Year!

Thank you for honor of this sharing.

Aho!

Good brothers, thank you for your lovely words. This forum has blessed many of us, and one of those blessings has been this sort of kindly sharing. May God look down upon your people with loving protection in the coming uncertain times, and bless you with peace and plenty in the midst of it.

AHO, Thank you for letting us read the ways of the true Native Americans, may have listened to your words and have pondered the wisdom of the visions which are so relative to our times here on Mother Earth. Let this new year begin with understanding of our combined worlds so we can breathe fully in the ways of Creator.

Thankyou for your sharing with all of us at this time. Did you see the piece on ABC news on the powwow that was being held in Tucson? Well I wish you, your family, and the Arapapho Nation the best in this coming year. May we all truly dance around the sacred tree in peace, and unity to the Creator and for the well being of our Mother Earth and all of us. May the Creator Bless! Mitakuye Oyasin!

Hau kolas, It is always time to be grateful. My hope is that as we read about humanities successes in responding to the potential Y2K issues that we do not remain arrogant and think that technology is THE answer and that we are in perfect control of it. I hope Y2K has at least taught us humility and will awaken our hearts to Mother Earth and to Native People around the globe who continue to suffer genocide. If so, we can indeed be greatful. Blessings on you and a Happy New Year. May we too, listen to the earth and its inhabitants and receive the knowledge to give back and endure.

I will print this thread out and share with the tribes ... Thank you for your kind words and prayers. Know that they are returned with full and loving hearts. May all who live upon this planet learn to live and share the same Love and compassion as this cyber-family shares on this forum.

I informed Daniel of the kind words to him for his sharing, brought tears to his eyes. You have all made an old man very happy. On behalf of my brother, thank you for your outpouring.

The Elders of the Arapahoe Nation's New Year Message to the World:

Welcome to the future! It is ours to do with as we choose. We can only pray that we each choose to do Creator's Will rather than our own. Mother Earth shall be a much better place if we but return control to Creator.

We ask Creator to watch over those in hospitals, prisons and jails; the homeless and the hungry; those who are alone.

May each find what is needed to live the life they are supposed to live.

Blessings upon all of our relations - two-legged, four-legged, feathered, and finned. Aho!

I am but a humble messenger, thank you for listening.

"Blessings upon all of our relations - two-legged, four-legged, feathered, and finned."

May these words echo in our hearts & minds. May this invocation renew itself each day, that we find our compassion growing just a little with each repitition.

Blessings Indeed,
