I think that what we are hearin gis that there isnt any mjor event to make worldwide news yet. There has to be some failures, its the nature of the beast. I witnesssed one myself earlier in the evening. However I do expect it to be remediated long before that system is rquired monday AM. ie no one will ever notice.

This seems to be an old thread so I kind of hope you are the only one that gets this message. Everyone is to happy tonight. Basically it means there was no problem with embeddeds in power generation and that's about it. Sorry to rain on your parade. Still no sign of what Y2K will be until next week. It is great that the power stayed on because with electricity everything else can be fixed. When Y2K first started to get attention it was billed as a mainframe only problem, then it moved to micros and I got interested. I have worked on PLCs and no a little about them and never did think that would be much of a problem. Bottom line phase 1 went great, phase 2 you'll know by Monday or Tuesday, (that's the backend mainframes) phase 3 I guess would be JIT and you won't know for a few weeks.
