London networks jammed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

BT Telephone lines to London from the Norfolk area are currently getting 'please try later' messages.

I'm on the net though, so it isn't all bad...

Maybe the lines are jammed because everybody is on the net hogging them?

Rob;

Everyone is on-line, tieing up the phones;) ???

Responsible people will not use the phones around midnight (wherever they are) unless it is an emergency.

Are you responsible?

I'm using ISDN ... Seriously though, data calls are fine but voice is not. Mobile networks seem OK at the moment.

As to being responsible, as long as BT allows me to dial my ISP I can assume they don't mind charging me for the privilege.

I pay the phone company for a service. Every month I get a bill from them and I pay them what is owed to them. I in return have the privilege to use the service and I am billed accordingly. I plan to pick the phone up at 9:00 p.m. PST and at 12:00 PST. BTW, my long distance carrier, AT&T did not send me a bill this month nor the month before. Looks like I'll get a double whammy bill, oh well.

Gus,

Responsible people would also not waste their time(and others time) sniping on a forum that they do not support or believe in. The irresponsible child in me might tell you to 'bite me', but my responsible nature won't allow that to happen for I am too tired and need much sleep. I think I'll call my congressman before I nod off.
