SYSOPS, Diane, Sysman, et al: Can You Confirm the E-Source of the Gary North Posting on Cascading Cross Defaults India? I have been a long-time subscriber to Dr. North's newsletter, and think of myself as good at "reading the voice" of an author. The post below "to all forums" meaning, to all y2k-related discussion forums like TYB2000, sounds to my "ear" like it must have come from North himself.

Can you verify the e-mail address for us? TNX

It sounded like Gare to me, too. I finally connected to his busy site and the posting was not there. It's a well written hoax.

Agreed. Hoax. North wouldn't have put in the stuff about the bunker.

Yes the posting is on his site: Anita Evangelista posted a hotlink at the tail of the earlier thread. There's even a few mispellings of the sort that appear in North's Latest Links on a daily basis. However, as she points out the e-mail is not Gary's (@bigfoot, I believe it is) and the stuff about the bunker is a bit over-the-top for even North's writing style. I'm inclined to agree: HOAX.

I found it at the Discussion Forum, under Business After 1999 forum -- CASCADING CROSS DEFAULTS -- but the "author's" return email address was Gary North @historian.com.

It's a fake email.

I agree Anita, sent him mail and got this in return:

Returned mail: Host unknown (Name server: historian.com: no data known

Doesn't look like it.

At this point, I am calling it a hoax. Reason: The message is only posted on Gary's several open forums. None of the closed forums (reporters, pastors, physicians) has the urgent post. Obviously, the real Gary would have access to the closed forums and would have likely posted there as well.
